Red Bull Stoppelboss turns a Leipzig wheat field into a wild off-road showdown

Looking for a motorsport discipline that gets your adrenaline pumping just by watching? Red Bull has the answer. The energy drink giant is calling on 300 daredevils to take part in a stubblecross race on the morning of 1 November, held in a harvested wheat field near Leipzig. The line-up will feature both ambitious amateurs and world champions.
Stubblecross is a form of off-road motorsport in which motorcycles, quads, and sometimes even cars race across harvested fields. These events are usually informal and hobby-focused, typically taking place in autumn after the grain harvest, when the ground is hard and uneven – perfect for creating demanding, high-energy tracks. The name comes from the stubble fields left behind once the crops are cut.
Red Bull, known for its passion for unconventional sports, is now bringing its own twist to the action with the Red Bull Stoppelboss. On Saturday, 1 November, a field at the Frohburger Dreieck near Leipzig will transform into a playground of “mud, adrenaline and pure two-wheeled action.”

Challenges on a 2.7-Kilometre Course
The event, which is already fully booked, will see around 300 riders take on a 2.7-kilometre track packed with obstacles including straw bale ramps, tree trunk sections, and even a tractor trailer loading ramp.
On race day, the schedule features free practice, qualifying, a pre-final, and the unmissable Super Final. In the grand finale, the top 80 riders will line up in classic Le Mans-style to battle for the title of Red Bull Stoppelboss.
Hard Enduro World Champion Eyes Another Title
“Red Bull Stoppelboss is pure fun and competitive spirit – on terrain normally only used by farm machinery,” said Manuel Lettenbichler. “It’ll be a blast to compete alongside the amateurs. It’s a unique event; all that matters is the moment and the will to win – and I want to win the title.”
It wouldn’t be his first. Lettenbichler, the reigning Hard Enduro World Champion, will lead the Blue Team, while his rival, newly crowned MX2 World Champion Simon Längenfelder, heads up the Red Team.
Red Bull promises a showdown filled with “thrilling duels, spectacular jumps and unbridled team spirit” as both crews fight it out on the Leipzig stubble field.
